My name is Carolyn Eastman of  Eastman's Fish Market and Eastman’s Local Catch, a NH CSF. We first owned our commercial boat and decided to try to catch, process and sell our own fish.  How naive were we as to the amount of work involved! But we were also naive to the depths of how meaningful our work was going to be. I have never been so proud of our mission to provide local seafood directly to local consumers. We created a fish market to process and sell our fish and then started to do research into CSFs.  

Our first season included a huge learning process that involved 6 farmer’s markets and a beach fish market. We had 56 shareholders this past summer and have had 122 shareholders this fall. Not only do we have pick up locations as farmer’s market locations but also at local farms that offer CSAs. We have strong ties with local farmers and the parallels to the industries are quite amazing.
